Why pay for water? Bring your own filtered bottle.

Here's a Cheep Sk8 tip: bring a water bottle with its own filter. I saved a ton of money this summer when I traveled out of the country and the water was somewhat questionable. As a bon voyage gift, I got a Berkey water bottle from a friend. They can be pricey, but the investment for clean water anywhere is well worth it. These are the same filtered bottles the military uses. I never had to buy bottled water at piracy prices. I tried it out on boats, trains, airplanes, public restrooms, anywhere there was a water source.

How much can it save? If you drink 6 bottles of water a day at $2.50/bottle at a venue, you'll save $9/day. This Cheep Sk8 tool saved me at least $250 during my month long trip. That is enough to buy airfare to another fabulous destination!
Where can you get one? Disasterstuff.com has them. Check it out.

Tomorrow - how I survived Hurricane Charlie, flight diversion & no power & no baggage.
